The Book of Mormon provides clear instructions on how to prepare to meet God. Alma 5:27-28 states: “Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? …Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life.” Take this simple test to see if you are prepared to meet God.

How WORTHY do you have to be to receive Eternal Life and Salvation?
In his book, The Miracle of Forgiveness, former LDS (Latter-day Saint) Apostle and Prophet Spencer W. Kimball defined the “gospel” of Mormonism as a “code of laws and commandments” by which humans “might attain perfection and, eventually, godhood.” According to Kimball, “this set of laws and ordinances…is the only plan which will exalt mankind.”...Consequently, the Book of Mormon states: “…for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” Thus, according to the LDS Bible Dictionary, “This grace is an enabling power that allows men and women to lay hold on eternal life and exaltation after they have expended their own best efforts.” Have you done All You can do? IS GRACE ALONE TOO EASY?
While Mormons believe that faith in Christ grants the first level of salvation (i.e., resurrection), many believe that good works (such as marriage for eternity in an LDS temple) are required to earn the highest level of Heaven. Quoting James 2:20: “...faith without works is dead” and other passages that speak of rewards granted in Heaven, many LDS feel that the Christian Gospel of grace alone is “too easy.” They believe that while sectarian Christians have “some truth,” the LDS religion is the only one that contains the fullness of the everlasting Gospel. Is the Christian Gospel cheap grace? Is faith in Christ all that matters, or does one need to perform righteous deeds to earn a higher position in Heaven? How difficult is the Gospel Plan described in Mormonism? Is it Impossible? Can mankind be exalted to the highest level of Heaven by obedience to its requirements? You be the judge as we examine the Gospel using only official books of Scripture sustained by the Prophets and Apostles.
Should We TRUST the Bible?
The completion of Biblical revelation was recorded nearly 2,000 years ago. Given its age and circulation, people often wonder if what we have today is what was originally written by the Prophets and Apostles. Likewise, LDS criticism over Bible accuracy echoes these concerns. While Mormons regard the King James Version of the Bible to be God-given Scripture, they claim that many errors have crept into the text. What about Joseph Smith's Inspired Version of the Bible that he translated to correct perceived mistakes in the text? How reliable are his changes? What Evidence Exists for Bible Accuracy? |
