MITT ROMNEY AND THE QUESTION OF A MORMON PRESIDENT

Today, I was asked for my opinion on the following films circulating during the election involving the Mormon Candidate, Mitt Romney. The two DVDs I commented on are:

• The Throne of Fools: For Whom Should Christians Vote? New DVD by Bill Schnoebelen
• A Mormon President: Joseph Smith and the Mormon Quest for the White House by Adam Christing

HERE IS MY RESPONSE:

I'm blessed that you are giving me an opportunity to share my perspective on this very time-sensitive and important issue.  First of all, I DO NOT recommend Schnoebelen as a source for anything. Although some of what he shares about Freemasonry, Mormonism and Satanism is true, he has a lot of far fetched claims, including the claim that he had sex with a demon, that he is an ex-vampire and that "human vampires exist and indeed grow fangs to feed off of human blood" and that he at one point was so demon possessed "it’s like burbling up here around your eyeballs..."

Anyway, this guy is not someone I would consider credible.  It is for this reason that I have always stayed away from his materials and I would tend to think his view of a Mormon in the Presidency video would be sensationalized much in the same way he has sensationalized his experiences in these demonic cults. So I do not recommend his videos.

I have seen the other video on the page entitled, "A Mormon President: Joseph Smith and the Mormon Quest for the White House."  In fact, the author of this video, Adam Christing, actually sent me this video, hoping that I would promote it in my ministry.  While it is a very accurate and a well-made movie on Joseph Smith and the history of Mormonism, IT DOES NOT address Romney, nor does it accurately represent Mormonism of today.  In fact, I wrote the author back and suggested he retitle the film to make it only about Joseph Smith as a person purchasing this film to gain insight into the election would be disappointed.
